Kentwood Players presents
4000 Miles
After suffering a major loss while he was on a cross-country bike trip, 21 year-old Leo seeks solace from his feisty 91 year-old grandmother Vera in her spacious rent-controlled Greenwich Village apartment that hasn’t been redecorated since 1968. The key decorative element is books. Over the course of the month of September in current time, these unlikely roommates infuriate, bewilder, and ultimately reach each other in many ways. 4000 Miles looks at how two outsiders find their way in today’s hectic world. The play was a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, won the 2012 Obie Award for Best New American Play, and was named Time magazine’s #1 Play or Musical of 2012.
