Its 1923. At the lonely military outpost of Pago Pago,
sticky heat alternates with torrential rain. A ship quarantine
strands Sadie Thompson, a breezy dame who sets
the Marines afire and the self-righteous Rev. Davidson,
a powerful missionary, who suspects Sadie is a fugitive
from the notorious Iweili (red-light) district of Honolulu.
Good-hearted Marine Sgt. OHara courts Sadie while
she tries to stay out of Davidsons path. The tensions
mount in this theatrical classic, inspired by W. Somerset
Maughams Miss Thompson. |
