General Meeting

The General Meeting this month will be on Wednesday, November 16, 2005, 8:00 P.M. at the theater, Westchester Playhouse, 8301 Hindry Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90045. COME ON DOWN!!

Hospitality

Meeting Hospitality for the November General Meeting will be provided by Adina Silo. Thank you Adina! Include protein, its dinner for some of us!!!!

Workshop

The workshop this month will be a big surprise. However, I CAN tell you the workshop will be directed by Charlotte Lee Schildkret, with a star studded cast including, in alphabetical order, Phil Brickey, Jeff Culp, Dan Forrest, Peter Miller, Michael Murphy and Arnold Schildkret.

According to the director the show is supported by Richard Potthoff Lights and Sound, Hal Fisher, Lorti Marple-Pereslete and Richard Potthoff on Props and Hilary Fitzsimmons on Script, with program by Shari Barrett.

October Music Hall Workshop

The following members participated in our October Music Hall Workshop:

The Unsinkable Molly Brown, by Meredith Willson and Richard Morris, November/December Production (Nov 4 – Dec 17)

Director Vicki Miller, Musical Director Brian Murphy and Producers Ben Lupejkis and Patty Butler encourage all to attend.

This whimsical musical opened to huge, appreciative audiences on opening weekend and continues on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through December 17. Make reservations and bring EVERYONE YOU KNOW to see Elizabeth Bouton, Rocky Miller and the talented cast of Phil Apoian, Steve Bevins, Patricia Butler, Sheldon Cohen, Sheridan Cole, Amy Coles, Jim Crawford, Sarah D’Agostino, Andrew Fitzsimmons, Derek Houck, Stephen Hulsey, Ben Lupejkis, Sarah Mahoney, Paul Mazerov, Michael Murphy, Tina Marie Nigro and Jeanne Spain.

45 Seconds From Broadway January/February (2006)

Our January/February 2006 production will be 45 Seconds From Broadway, by Neil Simon, to be directed by Gail Barnardi, with Shari Barrett stage managing. The producers of 45 Seconds from Broadway, Calia Mintzer, and Lori Marple Pereslete, encourage everyone to join them for Work Sunday on December 18, 10 AM.

Playing dates are January 13, 2006 to February 18, 2006.

Director Gail Bernardi told me she has put together a wonderful cast, many from Kentwood, and will introduce them at the November General Meeting. Gail said Barbara Haberman will be doing Props for the show.

Work Sunday

Work Sunday for 45 Seconds From Broadway will be December 18, 2005, 10 AM. Put THAT in you book and join us for work, fun and food!

Romeo & Juliet March/April Production

Our March April 2006 production will be Romeo & Juliet, by William Shakespeare, to be directed by Don Schlossman and produced by Ed Cotter. According to the Director and the Producer, audition dates and times are TO BE ANNOUNCED! Cast for the show is as follows:

The Fantasticks May/June Production

Our May June 2006 Production will be The Fantasticks, Music by Harvey Schmidt, book and lyrics by Tom Jones, to be directed by Kirk Larson and produced by Lori A. Marple-Pereslete.

George Washington Slept Here July/August Production

Our July August 2006 Production of George Washington Slept Here by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman, will be directed by Phil Brickey. As of this writing, the producer job appears to be open, so give Phil a call!

Christmas Production

Sheldon Metz is set to direct and Shellee James to produce our Christmas Production of Pinocchio, by Blanche Marvin. Performances are slated for three Saturdays on December 3, 10 & 17. Thus far the cast includes Drew Fitzsimmons and Phil Brickey.

Announcements
Michelle Rosen will appear in Crossing Delancey at Theater Palisades, November 4 through December 11, 2005. Shows are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Call the box office for tickets and reservations at 310 454 1970.

Kristen Miller is guest starring on “Hot Properties”, the new Gail O’Grady sitcom (a la “Designing Women,” but as real estate brokers) sometime during the next month or so. “Hot Properties” airs at 9:30 on Friday night on ABC.

Hal Fisher emailed to let us know Sheldon Metz is directing and Sharri Barnes is producing A CHRISTMAS CAROL, adapted for the stage by Jennifer Epps, at The Hermosa Beach Playhouse, Pier Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway. Show times are 12/2 at 7:30, 12/3 at 7:30, 12/9 at 7:30, 12/10 2:30 & 7:30 and 12/11 at 2:30 PM. Adults $15, Seniors and Students $10.00, reservations 310 347 1075.

August Vivirito is producing and directing a new adaptation of Charles
Dickens' NICHOLAS NICKLEBY. The show opens at the Flight Theater at The Complex in Hollywood on November 26th and runs through January 15th, 2006. The
Cast includes Scot Renfro as Wackford Squeers the evil schoolmaster.

Mel Oshins has been cast in SANTA BABIES. The show, a musical, is at The Villa Resort, 67670 Carey Road, Cathedral City, CA 92234. The show opens December 1 for 3 weekends ending on Dec 18. Mel says, “At 77 years old, I get to Act, Sing AND Get Paid!”
