City of Angels
will run through February 21, 2004. Be sure to come see this new, intriguing musical. Make your reservations today.

Barefoot in the Park: Neil Simon's comedy is being directed by Larry Jones and produced by Carmen Lynne. Barefoot in the Park opens March 12 and plays through April 17. Auditions were held January 10 and 11. Come to this month's meeting and find out who has been cast. Mark your calendars now for Work Sunday on February 22.

This and that (that shouldn't go unread): We are in dire need of Season Subscribers! Can you think of a better gift than a season of plays for someone you care about? Buy them now before the price increases! Members can now earn activity points for each season subscription he/she brings in. Call Dave Parke, Season Ticket Chairperson, for details! The board voted to reduce the budget for plays beginning May 1. Straight plays will be reduced from $2500 to $2000 and musicals from $5000 to $4500. And in trying to conserve money, if you want to help out on Work Sunday, ask the producer what you can bring! Linda Parke will be placing a small ad with a coupon in the Argonaut in an effort to further advertise and bring in patrons. Lori Pereslete has been appointed Properties Chairperson. She'll select a small committee to work with her. The prop closets in the garage will be organized and inventoried and locked. And speaking of locks, if you are locking up the theatre, please be sure to check all the exterior doors (including the garage) by really pulling on them to make sure they are secure.

Dinner Dance: This year's celebration will be held at the Elks Club. Invitations will go out in May. Dinner Dance Chairperson, Calia Mintzer, is looking for someone to be in charge of the music during the evening. Also, if you have music you'd like to hear played that night get it to Tom Brophey, preferably in CD format.

Membership News: If your active membership lapses, beginning May 1 dues for inactive members will increase to $54! It's not too late to earn your six points to remain active or attain active membership. There are still three months left. If you're not sure of your point standing, call Membership Chairperson Gert Nord (310) 315-5717. Also, Catherine Rahm is gathering e-mail addresses of Kentwood members. Please e-mail her with your address (catrahm@comcast.net) Remember, your membership entitles you to see six plays. Support your friends and fellow members. A lot of hard work and time goes into each production, and not every member takes the little time needed to see each play. Please come down...and bring some friends!

Here, There, and Everywhere: Susan Stangl and Dan Forrest will once again be playing husband and wife (for the third time!) in She Married Well, a farce at the Witmore-Lindley Theatre in North Hollywood on Magnolia at Vineland. Performances are at 8:00 PM on Saturdays and 7:00 PM on Sundays January 17 - February 8. For reservations call (310) 210-0910. Rob Duval's production of The Prodigious Snob at Windward School was selected as the finest high school production in L.A. County and will perform for 2000 students at the Southern California High School Theatre Festival in January. This is an honor annually awarded to three high schools in southern California. The show features Kentwood alumni Alec Owen and Rebecca Benzel. Aileen-Marie Scott was voted Best Female Performance in 2003 in Orange County for her role as Chloe in Lips Together, Teeth Apart at Costa Mesa Playhouse by "The Daily Pilot - Los Angeles Times." Maria Cohen won an award at the Morgan-Wixon for costumes for The Mikado. Congratulations to Rob, Aileen-Marie and Maria! Linda Parke is co-producing Twilight of the Golds at PV Players January 9 through mid February. Pam and John Abrams are busy working with Windermere Real Estate in the desert. If you know anyone looking to buy or sell out their way, have them look them up. They have a new web-site (www.pamandjohn.com).
