Producer Ed Cotter has issued a "Red Alert!" (Perhaps "Bed Alert" is more apt!) They are in need of a hospital gurney with wheels (not a hospital bed). It is needed one week prior to the opening through the run of the show. If you have a contact please call Ed or Lori. The City of Angels staff will be greatly beholden to you!

Work Sunday is this weekend on December 14 beginning at 10:00 AM. City of Angels will run from January 9 through February 21, 2004.

Barefoot in the Park: Neil Simon's comedy is being directed by Larry Jones and produced by Carmen Lynne. Barefoot in the Park opens in March. Auditions will be held on Saturday, January 10 and Sunday, January 11. Unfortunately the exact times and a character break-down were unavailable for this bulletin. For information come to the December meeting or contact Larry (818) 833-7207 or Carmen (310) 937-8151.

This and that (that shouldn't go unread): The theatre's fire extinguishers have been serviced and mounted on the walls. Shellee James, House Manager, is getting estimates for termite work. Tenting will take two nights and three days. $4500 is being earmarked for extermination at a date still to be determined. Frank Olivadotti was approved to serve on the Plays Committee, replacing Bill Buhler (see "In Passing"). The board approved an increase in group ticket prices. Plays will cost $10 on Fridays and $11 on Saturdays and Sundays, musicals will cost $12 on Fridays and $13 on Saturdays and Sundays. We are in dire need of Season Subscribers! Can you think of a better gift at this time of year than a season of plays for someone you care about? Buy them now before the price increases! Members can now earn activity points for each season subscription he/she brings in. Call Dave Parke, Season Ticket Chairperson, for details!

Membership News: If your active membership lapses, beginning May 1 dues for inactive members will increase to $54! It's not too late to earn your six points to remain active or attain active membership. There are still four months left. If you're not sure of your point standing, call Membership Chairperson Gert Nord
(310) 315-5717.

Here, There, and Everywhere: Alice Lunsford's short play, Unlikely Islands, will have a staged reading on December 11 and 12 at 8:00 PM in the Fine Arts Recital Hall at West L.A. College, 9000 Overland Avenue. Admission is free. For information call Alice at (310) 392-1579. Alice also had 10 of her paintings on exhibit. Her collages of Mardi Gras were on display with some of Grace Gadino's work at the Blue Seven Gallery on December 6. Susan Stangl and Dan Forrest will once again be playing husband and wife (for the third time!) in She Married Well, a farce at the Witmore-Lindley Theatre in North Hollywood on Magnolia at Vineland. Performances are at 8:00 PM on Saturdays and 7:00 PM on Sundays January 17 - February 8. For reservations call (310) 210-0910. Babette Dickerson is appearing in Sockmuffin the Elf A New Holiday Musical by Hugh Brian Asnen at the Globe Theatre in Hollywood from December 11 through December 28 on Saturdays and Sundays at 3:00 PM.

In Passing: I am so very sad to report the death of Bill Buhler. Bill was a long time Kentwood member - a talented actor and master craftsman. Bill passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 27. Services were held at Holy Cross on Thursday, December 4. I have very fond memories of Bill. My first role on Kentwood's stage was in 1973 in Inherit the Wind with Bill portraying Henry Drummond. I have never forgotten his masterful, inspiring performance. All our prayers and sympathy go out to his beloved wife, Mary.

Happy News: Rob and Leslie Duval welcomed son Charlie on Wednesday, November 12 at 1:05 AM. Congratulations on the new arrival! Also, Jeannette Lyons is home. She loves receiving cards and calls from all her long-time friends.
