General Meeting: Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at 8:00 PM
Hospitality: Adina Silo will provide goodies this month.
Workshop: Phil Brickey is directing this month’s workshop. The content is still a mystery at the time of this printing!

The Supporting Cast: Director Ben Lupejkis and producers Calia Mintzer and Charlotte Lee Schildkret have put together a wonderful production. The Supporting Cast opened on Friday, November 7 and plays through December 13. Make your reservations now before you get swept into holiday festivities and run out of time! The cast and crew wish to thank the following people who came out for Work Sunday:
David Abrams, Estelle Abrams, Margie Bates, Gail Bernardi, Karen Blasky, Barbara Brophey, Maria E. Cohen, Sheldon Cohen, Sheridan Cole, James Manley Green, Mary Manley Green, Bill Harred, Shellee James, Pat Kelly, Moe Lauati, Gretchen Luna, Ben Lupejkis, Julia Maggs, Lori A. Marple-Pereslete, Bob Martz, Paul Mazerov, Victoria Miller, Gert Nord, Frank J. Olivadoti, Dave Parke, David Parke III, Tony Pereslete, Joey Perez, Scot Renfro, Michelle Rosen, Frank Roys, Bob Schnauss, Adina Silo, Jeanne Spain, Max H. Stormes, and Dave Whale

Frosty the Snowman: This wintertime children’s musical in one act by William Frances (words and music by Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins) is being directed by David Parke and produced by Shellee James. It will perform two Saturday afternoons, December 6 and 13 at 2:00 PM. Tickets will be $5. Reservations are already being taken (and are required). This fun-filled holiday play is recommended for children 10 and under.

City of Angels: Director Victoria Miller, Producers Ed & De Cotter, and Music Director Dean Mora held auditions and the cast should be revealed at this month’s general meeting. City of Angels will run from January 9 through February 21, 2004. Please start looking for clothing from the 1940’s including fedoras. Maria is anticipating needing a lot of help. Mark your calendars now for Work Sunday which will be held on December 14 beginning at 10:00 AM.

Barefoot in the Park: Neil Simon’s comedy had Clay Kugler slated as director. Unfortunately Clay has had to withdraw from the production. In his place the board has approved Larry Jones as director for the March-April 2004 play.

Picnic: The board has approved Calia Mintzer and Margie Bates as producers for this William Inge play to be directed by Gail Bernardi in July - August 2004.

Murder on the Nile: The board has approved this Agatha Christie mystery to be directed by Sheridan Cole for September - October 2004.

This and that (that shouldn’t go unread):
The original box office window (far right on the counter) has been reopened for a trial run of having two lines for picking up tickets. The theatre manager should be prepared to help hand out prepaid tickets at busy times. The board has approved the purchase of 24 casters as a capital investment for sets. Sheldon and Arlene Cohen are traveling until November 21. In Arlene’s absence, Maria Cohen is handling workshop and scheduling. Because the Westchester Holiday Pararde is on the same day as Work Sunday for City of Angels, Kentwood Players will not be participating this year.

Board Actions: The board approved the following motions:
1) Effective May 2004, ticket prices will be increased to $15 for plays and $17 for musicals (with the usual $2 discount for students and seniors.
2) Effective May 2004 season ticket subscription prices will be increased to $54, with advance notice and an offer to renew early at the current price of $45 no matter what the renewal due date is.
Please note that the increase in season ticket prices automatically applies to non-active member dues.
3) The maximum budget for Work Sunday food will be $200.
