Interested in working on the crew? Contact producer Margie Bates! Also, Margie and Phil are in need of a bed...for Dial M of course! They would prefer a roll-away bed or a large cot. It gets placed onstage for act III so it needs to be portable and easy fairly easy to move. If you have one that you are willing to loan, please contact Phil or Margie.

The Supporting Cast: This comedy to be directed by Gail Bernardi and produced by Calia Mintzer opens November 7. Look to a future bulletin for a cast description. Auditions will be held September 13 and 14.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Shakespeare’s unique, clever comedy has been approved by the board to be directed by Rob Duval for May/June 2004.

This and that (that shouldn’t go unread): House Manager Shellee James is collecting bids for a new roof.

Season Tickets: A new proposal to allow audience members to buy discounted season subscriptions on the night they attend a play was accepted. An audience member who is interested in purchasing a season subscription may apply the cost of that performance’s ticket to the season subscription if purchased the same day. Dave Parke will organize the purchases.

Fourth of July Parade: The following people participated in this annual parade: Hal “Uncle Sam” Fisher, Charlotte Lee Schildkret, Margie Bates, Maria Cohen, Sheldon and Arlene Cohen, Jim Crawford, Bill Harred, Shellee James, Alice Lunsford, Julia Maggs, Alison, Justin, Joshua, and Bianca Mattiza, Calia Mintzer, Lee and Judy Polak, Adina Silo, Jeanne Spain, and Rudi and Dorothea Toepfer. All the participants wore costumes, carried a huge flag, and handed out close to 3,000 fliers promoting the season. Thanks to everyone who promoted our theatre on the holiday.

Congratulations to Mel Oshins who recently won first place in the 50+ age category of the McCallum Theatre’s Open Call amateur talent competition on June 14. Get well wishes to Deena Oshins and her sister Sheri. Deena recently underwent successful surgery at Loma Linda Hospital to remove a brain tumor. At the same time, in the same hospital her sister had an attack of diverticulosis and needed emergency surgery. Both should be home by the time you read this. Deena would love to hear from her Kentwood friends.
