This and that (that shouldn’t go unread):  Work Saturday on January 26 was a huge success, much unneeded stuff was tossed, remaining trim, props, etc. were sorted and organized.  Thanks go to the following people:

Gail Bernardi, Sheldon Cohen, Sheridan Cole, De Cotter, Jim Crawford, Bill Goldyn,
Bill Harred, Sheldon Metz (who organized the event), Judy & Lee Polak, Jennifer Porter,
Richard Potthoff, Charlotte Lee Schildkret, Bob Schnauss, Adina Silo (who provided lunch),
Max Stormes, and Dave Whale.

Now that there is some room to work in the garage, Dave Whale and Max Stormes are building new 9’ flats to replace the ancient ones (those are being torn apart and tossed).  This is a very necessary and monumental task.  At this time they will be building 39 new flats.

Board Actions:  The nominating committee has been formed.  It is comprised of De Cotter, Shellee James, Sheldon Metz, Scot Renfro and Max Stormes.

Here, There, and Everywhere:  Barbara Boone will be appearing in Funny Girl at the Upland Grove Theater March 22 - April 21 playing Friday and Saturday nights and Sundays at 3 p.m. For tickets, call (909)920-4343, M-F 10-5.  Dean Schullman, the director, is looking for more men between 16 and 50.  Call him at  (323)653-3498.  Scot Renfro received great reviews in Backstage West and the L.A. Times for the set he designed for Imitating Sam at the Egyptian Arena Theatre. Behold a Pale Bronco is opening at A.R.T. on Friday, February 15 and plays through Saturday March 16.  It is paired with a one woman show, Manchester Girl, written and performed by Sue Turner Clay.  Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM.  General admission is $12 and seniors/students are $10.

Get Well Soon: Estelle Abrams fell recently and broke her hip.  We wish her a speedy recovery.

In Passing:  I am very sad to report the death of one of Kentwood’s oldest members.  Bo Beaudoin died on January 10 at Culver West of congestive heart failure.  He peacefully went to sleep and didn’t wake up.  According to Bo’s wishes, there was no service and his ashes have been scattered at sea.  Our love and prayers go out to his daughter, Doris.

Celebrations:  Happy February Birthday wishes to Dorothy Schrenzel (2/2), Eyde Fahringer (2/3), Frank Roys (2/12), Arnold Schildkret (2/14), James Green (2/15), Jeanne Spain (2/16), and Toula Pessah (2/17).  Happy Anniversary to Estelle & David Abrams (2/21).

Just for the record:  Please...if you want something placed in the bulletin, don’t assume I know about it.  Take the initiative and call (310)204-1838 or e-mail me (N6KOA.J@JUNO.COM)!  Until next month!
